*This position is federally funded through the ESSER Fund and will be at secondary campuses or a secondary campus.*

Primary Purpose:

To perform a variety of duties and responsibilities involved in assisting in educational programs including providing instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities to meet the educational needs of students.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

Valid Texas educational aide certificate

Associates Degree required

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics

Ability to work well with children

Ability to communicate effectively

Knowledge of general purpose and goals of education 

Ability to Learn instructional terminology, program philosophies, concepts, materials, methods, and procedures.

Experience:

Three years of instructional assistant experience with children required.
