Primary Purpose: The role of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is to provide school based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to students. This includes the implementation of a treatment plan developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) addressing communication, behavior, activities of daily living and social skills. The RBT will also monitor the progress of a treatment plan and work closely with the BCBA to update the treatment plan as necessary.
The RBT will assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Provides supervision and support for students with serious emotional and behavioral problems or cognitive impairments. Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of BCBA. The candidate selected may be assigned to an individual student.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Valid Texas educational aide certificate or willing to obtain certificate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (or ability to obtain within 90 school calendar days after hire, requires 40 hours of online training and passing an exam)
Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work with children with disabilities Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively Knowledge of general office equipment SAMA certification (or able to obtain after hire) Ability to remain calm in very intense situations
Experience: Two years’ experience working with children who have severe behavior needs. |
